Pokémon GO is a mobile app that has entranced America, the UK and the AU. Users of the app (which is now more popular than Tinder and has more user engagement per day than Twitter and Instagram), partake in its augmented reality platform, catching Pokémon that ‘appear’ in front of the player utilizing the smartphone’s built-in camera. The app encourages players to explore their locality and neighborhoods by creating landmarks at various public institutions and parks.
It is truly a pleasure to have great data driving your marketing and communications strategy. Data helps to make your decision-making process highly effective, easy to grasp, and hard to argue with.
When starting a new business or launching a new product/service, it’s always tempting to get excited and immediately purchase media/advertising, and begin to promote your offerings on social media. Driving traffic to your website is important, however, without accurate data and analytic reports, all that work can be for nothing. Your digital marketing dollars will go much further once you put them into the right baskets; and you can only do that by having all of the information. Set up your analytics and KPIs before you spend ad dollars on digital advertising.
If you are a small business owner or nonprofit, marketing a new product or service can be a daunting prospect. However, the challenges can be managed and met with some simple planning that will make each step along the way much more digestible.

A growing number of individuals, organizations, and for-profit companies are recognizing the many benefits of a diverse workforce. The strategies outlined below are designed to enhance inclusion in the workplace for employees of all ages and all skill levels.
In a blog post on June 29, 2016, Lars Backstrom, Engineering Director at Facebook announced another round of changes rolling out to its News Feed algorithm. These changes will be designed to prioritize content from friends and family, while reducing the organic reach of content posted from Facebook Pages.
Backstrom wrote in his blog post, “We’ve heard from our community that people are still worried about missing important updates from the friends they care about. For people with many connections this is particularly important, as there are a lot of stories for them to see each day. So we are updating News Feed over the coming weeks so that the things posted by the friends you care about are higher up in your News Feed. Overall, we anticipate that this update may cause reach and referral traffic to decline for some Pages.”
Facebook ads are an incredibly affordable way to target people who will support your business and engage with your offerings. The more targeted you make your ads, the greater chances you have to reach the right customers for your product, location, or service. A great way to start Facebook marketing is selling to your current customers and fans rather than looking for new ones; strengthen and retain your existing connections by retargeting them where they most likely already are: on Facebook.
Why non-profit organizations should level the playing field with for-profit businesses and finally make a big investment in marketing and public relations.
Marketing is critical to the health and success of any business. In order to be profitable, companies need to be able to find new customers and keep current customers aware of new offerings, specials, and the benefits of using their products. Very often, non-profit organizations are treated quite unfairly, expected to be miracle workers by doing more to help every year with less...much less. Forced to compete with profit-driven businesses for market share, it’s not entirely surprising that total giving to charitable organizations was a merger 2.1% of US GDP in 2015.[i]
Simply put, the little guys are the embodiment of my work ethic (and they are adorable, obviously). A personal brand should reflect your personality, ethics, and values. Elephant Shrews (or, Sengi) are highly intelligent and are among the most fascinating mammals alive today. They thrive in seemingly inhospitable environments, creating a series of organized trails and habitats which they maintain with frenetic energy.
If you have a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device, you may use apps to play games, read news, check weather, and more. As the technology develops, new and innovative apps are increasing accessibility and helping people of all ages to communicate more effectively. I have put together a selection of apps that use new technology to enhance inclusion and improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
